Bistro Non-Alcoholic Kir Royale

An elegant and refreshing non-alcoholic Kir Royale made with sparkling grape juice, blackcurrant syrup, and a splash of fresh lemon juice. Perfect for brunch or any occasion where you want a classy, alcohol-free drink.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (240 ml) sparkling grape juice (unsweetened or lightly sweetened, white grape juice preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) blackcurrant syrup (crème de cassis substitute)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • Fresh berries or lemon twist for garnish

Instructions

  1. Chill sparkling grape juice, blackcurrant syrup, and glasses well (at least 30 minutes in fridge or 5 minutes in freezer).
  2. Pour 2 tablespoons of blackcurrant syrup gently into the bottom of each flute glass.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice to the syrup in each glass.
  4. Slowly pour 1 cup of sparkling grape juice into each glass, pouring gently down the side to preserve bubbles.
  5. Use a small spoon or stirrer to gently combine syrup and grape juice without flattening the bubbles.
  6. Garnish with fresh berries or a lemon twist and serve immediately.

Notes

Chill all ingredients and glasses well to keep bubbles lively. Pour sparkling grape juice slowly down the side of the glass to preserve fizz. Use quality blackcurrant syrup for best flavor. Consume immediately after mixing for optimal bubbles.
