A quick and refreshing summer cocktail combining cherry juice, fresh lime, and vodka into an icy slushie perfect for gatherings or casual sipping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cherry juice, preferably unsweetened or lightly sweetened
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) fresh lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 cup (240 ml) frozen lime juice cubes
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) vodka
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) simple syrup, homemade or store-bought
  • 2 cups (about 480 ml) ice cubes, crushed or whole
  • Fresh cherries (optional, for garnish or blending)
  • Mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Freeze the lime juice cubes by pouring fresh lime juice into an ice cube tray and freezing for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Prepare simple syrup if making homemade by combining equal parts sugar and water, heating until sugar dissolves, then cooling.
  3. Juice fresh limes until you have 1/2 cup (120 ml) of juice; strain to remove seeds and pulp.
  4. Add cherry juice, fresh lime juice, frozen lime juice cubes, vodka, simple syrup, and ice cubes to the blender.
  5. Pulse the blender in 20-second intervals, stirring between pulses until the mixture reaches a smooth slush consistency, about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness by adding more simple syrup, water, cherry juice, or ice cubes as needed.
  7. Serve immediately in chilled glasses, garnished with fresh cherries and mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Use frozen lime juice cubes to keep the slush icy without diluting flavor. Pulse blender instead of blending continuously to avoid watery texture. Chill glasses in advance for best serving experience. Adjust simple syrup to balance sweetness and tartness. For non-alcoholic version, omit vodka and add extra cherry juice or sparkling water.
