A warm and inviting slow cooker peach butter made with fresh peaches, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Perfect for cozy mornings and easy to prepare with minimal hands-on time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pounds fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the peaches into roughly ½-inch thick wedges.
  2. Place the sliced peaches in the slow cooker. Add brown sugar, ground cinnamon, fresh lemon juice, vanilla extract (if using), and a pinch of salt. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Cover and cook on low heat for 7 to 8 hours, stirring once or twice to prevent sticking.
  4. After cooking, puree the mixture using an immersion blender or transfer to a blender and blend until smooth. Be careful when blending hot mixtures.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice by adding more brown sugar or cinnamon if desired. If too thick, stir in a splash of water or lemon juice.
  6. Let the peach butter cool to room temperature, then spoon into clean jars or containers. Seal tightly and refrigerate.

Notes

Use ripe but firm peaches for best texture. Blanch peaches in boiling water for 30 seconds and plunge into ice water to speed peeling. Stir occasionally during cooking to prevent burning. Skim off any foam for a smoother finish. Store in sterilized jars for longer shelf life. Peach butter keeps up to 2 weeks refrigerated or 3 months frozen. Warm gently when reheating to avoid scorching.
