A quick and easy recipe to make the smooth, velvety Starbucks vanilla sweet cream cold foam at home, perfect for iced coffee lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup (120 ml) half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vanilla syrup
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon (5 grams) granulated sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill your ingredients: Place the half-and-half, whole milk, and vanilla syrup in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before starting.
  2. Combine ingredients: In a small mixing bowl or jar, pour ½ cup half-and-half, ¼ cup whole milk, 2 tablespoons vanilla syrup, and 1 teaspoon granulated sugar if using. Stir gently to mix.
  3. Froth the mixture: Insert your handheld frother into the bowl or jar. Turn it on and move it slightly up and down for about 30-45 seconds until the mixture increases in volume and develops a thick, velvety foam. If you don’t have a frother, shake vigorously in a tightly sealed jar for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Check the texture: The foam should be smooth, creamy, and hold soft peaks.
  5. Assemble your drink: Fill a glass with about 8 oz (240 ml) of your favorite iced coffee. Slowly spoon or pour the cold foam over the top.
  6. Enjoy immediately: Sip through the foam to enjoy the creamy vanilla and bold coffee balance. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or cocoa powder on top.

Notes

Use cold ingredients for best frothing results. Adjust sweetness by varying vanilla syrup or sugar. For dairy-free, substitute half-and-half and milk with full-fat coconut or almond milk, though foam texture may vary. If foam is too runny, froth longer or add more half-and-half; if too thick, add a splash more milk. Leftover foam can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours and refreshed by whisking or frothing again.
