A quick and easy dessert dip with a creamy sweetened cream cheese base topped with warm caramel, toffee bits, and a pinch of sea salt. Perfect for apple slices, pretzels, or cookies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup caramel sauce, store-bought or homemade
  • ½ cup toffee bits or chopped pecans, for garnish
  • Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling
  • 45 large apples, sliced (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
  • Optional: pretzel sticks, graham crackers, or vanilla wafers for dipping

Instructions

  1. Soften cream cheese by leaving at room temperature for 30 minutes or microwaving on low for 10-15 seconds.
  2. Beat softened cream cheese with a hand mixer on medium speed until smooth and fluffy, about 1 minute.
  3. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating on medium-high for 30 seconds until light and creamy.
  4. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly into a serving dish or pie plate.
  5. Warm caramel sauce in a microwave-safe bowl for 15-20 seconds until slightly warm and pourable.
  6. Pour warm caramel over cream cheese layer, spreading gently to edges without stirring.
  7. Sprinkle toffee bits or chopped pecans evenly over caramel, then finish with a light sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
  8. Chill dip for 15-20 minutes to set layers (optional but recommended).
  9. Slice apples into wedges, removing core and seeds. Toss in lemon water to prevent browning if desired.
  10. Arrange apple slices and optional dippers around dip. Serve and enjoy.

Notes

Room temperature cream cheese is essential for a smooth dip. Warm the caramel slightly for easier spreading. Do not swirl the layers—keep them distinct for best texture. Dip can be made up to 2 days ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator. Let sit at room temperature 15-20 minutes before serving.
