A festive and effortless Halloween charcuterie board that looks like a spiderweb. Made with cheese, cured meats, crackers, and spooky decorations, it comes together in under 20 minutes and is perfect for parties or movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small wheel Brie cheese (about 8 ounces)
  • 6 ounces aged cheddar, cubed
  • 6 ounces smoked gouda, sliced into thin wedges
  • 4 ounces goat cheese log
  • 4 ounces prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces salami, sliced into rounds
  • 3 ounces pepperoni, sliced thin
  • 1 can (6 ounces) black olives, drained
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks
  • 1 small red bell pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 2 cups assorted crackers (water crackers, wheat thins, buttery rounds)
  • 1 cup red or green grapes
  • ½ cup dried apricots
  • ½ cup smoked or roasted almonds
  • 3 to 5 small plastic spiders (optional)
  • A few fresh rosemary sprigs
  • ¼ cup toasted pumpkin seeds (or pepitas)

Instructions

  1. Place your round board or platter on a clean, flat surface. If using parchment paper, cut it into a circle slightly smaller than your board and place it on top.
  2. Place a small bowl or ramekin in the very center of your board. Fill it with black olives—whole ones for the spiders and sliced ones for decoration.
  3. Starting from the center bowl, arrange pretzel sticks in straight lines radiating outward like spokes on a wheel. You want about 8 to 10 spokes, spaced evenly around the board.
  4. Place your larger cheese pieces between the pretzel spokes: brie at 12 o’clock, cheddar cubes at 3 o’clock, smoked gouda slices at 6 o’clock, and goat cheese log at 9 o’clock. Add more cheese in the spaces between.
  5. Take your prosciutto slices and gently fold or roll them into strips. Place these strips along the pretzel spokes, weaving them slightly to create the look of a web.
  6. Arrange the salami rounds and pepperoni slices in the open spaces between your cheese and meat. Overlap them slightly for a fuller look, placing them in clusters of three or four.
  7. Scatter the grapes, dried apricots, and almonds around the board. Place grapes near the edges so they look like little eyeballs. Put apricots near the orange cheddar for a color-coordinated look.
  8. Take thin strips of red bell pepper and place them in concentric circles between the pretzel spokes. Start about 2 inches from the center and work your way out to create the full web effect.
  9. Arrange your crackers around the outer edge of the board. Fan them out in small groups so guests can easily grab them. Place some water crackers near the brie and some wheat thins near the cheddar.
  10. Place your plastic spiders on the web—one near the center, one on the edge, and one crawling over a piece of cheese. Sprinkle the toasted pumpkin seeds around the board. Add the rosemary sprigs in a few spots to look like spooky trees.

Notes

For best results, let cheese come to room temperature about 30 minutes before assembling. Start with a room-temperature board to avoid condensation on cheese. Don’t overcrowd the center—the spiderweb effect works best with visible space between spokes. If pretzel sticks slide, press them gently into cheese or meat to anchor them. Assemble no more than 2 hours before serving to keep crackers crisp. For a vegetarian version, skip meats and double up on cheese, adding marinated artichoke hearts or roasted red peppers. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free crackers and pretzel sticks or thin carrot sticks.
