An easy homemade summer cocktail blending juicy peaches, smooth bourbon, sweet tea, fresh lemon, and mint for a refreshing and flavorful drink perfect for warm evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large ripe peaches, peeled and pitted
  • 1 cup (240 ml) bourbon (recommended Maker’s Mark)
  • 3 cups (720 ml) sweet tea, homemade or store-bought
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • About 10 fresh mint leaves, plus extras for garnish
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) simple syrup (optional)
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the peach puree by peeling, pitting, and cutting peaches into chunks. Blend until smooth but slightly textured. Set aside.
  2. If making homemade sweet tea, brew 3 cups of strong black tea, stir in 1/4 cup sugar while hot, and let cool to room temperature.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine peach puree, cooled sweet tea, bourbon, lemon juice, and simple syrup if using. Tear mint leaves slightly and stir into the mixture.
  4. Refrigerate the cocktail for at least 30 minutes to chill and allow flavors to infuse.
  5. Serve over plenty of ice cubes, garnished with a lemon slice and a sprig of fresh mint. Optionally, rim glasses with sugar before pouring.

Notes

Use firm ripe peaches for best flavor and texture; frozen peaches can be used if thawed slightly. Avoid overblending peaches to prevent watery texture. Gently bruise mint leaves to release oils without bitterness. Adjust sweetness with simple syrup to taste. Chill cocktail at least 30 minutes before serving. Store leftovers in sealed container up to 24 hours.
