These sliders feature tender, slow-cooked pulled chicken coated in a sticky honey garlic glaze, perfect for quick, comforting meals or entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/3 cup honey (113g)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (60ml), low-sodium preferred
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup (30ml)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (15ml)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (5ml), optional
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (5g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (1g), freshly ground
  • 12 small soft slider buns (King’s Hawaiian recommended)
  • Optional toppings: sliced pickles, coleslaw, fresh herbs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce by whisking together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, onion powder, and black pepper in a medium mixing bowl until smooth.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and pour the sauce evenly over the chicken, coating each piece. Do not stir.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 3.5 to 4 hours, or until the chicken shreds easily with a fork.
  4. Shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks or tongs. Stir the shredded chicken into the sauce to coat evenly. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Slice and optionally toast the slider buns for extra texture and warmth.
  6. Assemble the sliders by spooning a generous amount of the honey garlic pulled chicken onto each bun. Add optional toppings like pickles or coleslaw. Serve immediately.

Notes

If the sauce is too thin after shredding, mix 1 teaspoon cornstarch with 1 tablespoon cold water and stir into the slow cooker. Turn heat to high for 10 minutes to thicken. Toast buns lightly to prevent sogginess. Use fresh garlic for best flavor. Adjust honey and vinegar to balance sweetness and acidity.
