These easy mini turkey and cheese sliders are the perfect lunchbox idea—they work hot or cold, come together in minutes, and make you look like you planned ahead when you absolutely did not. Made with simple ingredients like deli turkey, cheese, slider buns, and a buttery seasoning blend, they’re a crowd-pleaser for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12-count package slider buns (Hawaiian sweet rolls or plain white rolls)
  • 1 pound deli turkey, thinly sliced
  • 810 slices Swiss or provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Keep the slider buns connected in a sheet and place on a cutting board.
  2. Slice the entire sheet of buns in half horizontally using a serrated knife, keeping tops and bottoms intact.
  3. Place the bottom half of the buns in a 9×13 baking dish.
  4. Layer the turkey evenly over the bottom buns, overlapping slightly.
  5. Top the turkey with the cheese slices, covering completely.
  6. Place the top half of the buns over the cheese and press down gently.
  7. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk until well combined.
  8. Pour or brush the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the buns, including edges and cracks.
  9. Sprinkle poppy seeds over the top if using.
  10. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes until tops are golden brown and slightly crispy.
  12. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  13. Slice the sliders apart along the seams using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.

Notes

Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes after baking to allow the cheese to set. For best results, use room temperature cheese and let the melted butter cool slightly before mixing with other ingredients. The flavors develop overnight, making these even better the next day. To freeze, assemble sliders and wrap tightly before baking, or freeze after baking and reheat.
